Water quality specialist joins AMEC's Arizona operations

The chief water quality management officer for the Arizona Department of Water Resources has joined the engineering and services firm AMEC as a senior project manager.


Phoenix, Ariz., Dec. 13, 2002 -- The chief water quality management officer for the Arizona Department of Water Resources has joined the engineering and services firm AMEC as a senior project manager.

Mason Bolitho will provide leadership experience in the water-quality, water-resources, water-rights, stormwater-management and permitting arenas to AMEC's clients throughout Arizona and the Southwest, including many municipal and state government entities.

Bolitho brings clients more than 20 years of professional, technical and administrative experience in water quality program management, Superfund project management, environmental and subsurface geology, and hydrology. [A photo of Mr. Bolitho is attached.]

He served 15 years with the state Department of Water Resources, including the past five years as manager of water quality programs for the agency. His duties have included the investigation and remediation of federal and state Superfund sites, negotiation and evaluation of water quality legislation, oversight of water quality analyses for the Assured Water Supply program, implementation of water quality/water resource policies, and representation of the agency at the local, state and federal levels on water quality issues.

Before joining DWR, Bolitho performed geologic services for two companies in Texas and for the Nebraska Geological Survey. He has degrees in Geology from the University of Kansas and the University of Nebraska.
