Held March 17-20, 2002, at the Tampa Convention Center, Annual Conference 25 featured 181 exhibitors, a keynote address by former U.S. Air Force Captain Scott F. O'Grady, and special recognition of GITA conference founder, Hank A. Emery.

The technical program included 20 preconference seminars and 84 technical sessions. Herman Abinette, GIS Business Analyst, Affiliated Computer Services, said, "I've been to a lot of conferences and some of the best talks that I've ever been to were here. Next year's conference will be held March 2-5, 2003, at the San Antonio Convention Center in San Antonio, Tex. More information on the conference can be found at the association's Web site, located at www.gita.org.
