Feb. 14, 2002 -- M-I L.L.C has announced its acquisition of The SulfaTreat Company. M-I is a supplier of drilling and completion fluids, solids control and waste management.
The company anticipates benefiting from its immense resources and experience to help serve its SulfaTreat customers even better than before the acquisition.
Many things will stay the same. For instance, all of the existing sales representatives and support staff will remain to continue serving customers as they have in the past.
The company will not lose its "small company feel" simply because it now has new owners.
As part of the transition, the new company name will be SulfaTreat, a Division of M-I L.L.C. According to Richard Fox, general manager, "We are very excited by this new development! M-I will be there to help us serve our customers in new and better ways than ever before."
M-I L.L.C is owned 60 percent by Smith International, Inc. and 40 percent by Schlumberger Limited.
