wastewater multi-utility infrastructure group of companies, recently announced that it will appoint Scott A. Thomson as president and chief executive officer (CEO), effective Sept. 22, 2015. Thomson brings 30 years of experience to CORIX, including almost 20 years of executive leadership experience in the energy and utilities sectors.

Thomson joins CORIX from Manitoba Hydro & Centra Gas Manitoba, where he has served as president and CEO since 2012. He was responsible for providing strategic direction, oversight and development for a vertically integrated
electric and gas distribution utility with more than 6,000 employees serving over 555,000 electric customers and 272,000 natural gas customers in the province of Manitoba, Canada.
From 1999 to 2011, Thomson held various positions at Fortis BC Holdings Inc. (formerly Terasen Inc.), including chief financial officer and executive vice president (VP) of regulatory affairs and energy supply, as well as controller and director of finance and strategic planning. Prior to his roles in industry, he was a consulting principal with Ernst & Young, where he served utility and energy clients in Canada and the Middle East. Thomason has an Honors Degree in Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant - CA.
