To discuss global water issues at the highest level, involving international stakeholders, Hungary will be hosting the Budapest Water Summit 2016 (BWS 2016), a high-profile conference and Expo with the motto ”Water connects” between 28 and 30 November 2016.
Under the patronage of H.E. Mr János Áder, President of Hungary and Member of the High Level Panel on Water convened by the UN Secretary-General and the President of the World Bank Group, the organisers have invited water ministers from the United Nations member states and high-level representatives of UN specialised agencies and other international organisations to the Plenary Session of the Summit.
Business to meet politics
As part of the Budapest Water Summit 2016, the Sustainable Water Solutions Expo will be held parallel to the plenary sessions and thematic forums of the Summit, with a focus on sustainable, innovative, environment-friendly solutions in various fields of the water industry such as water supply, desalination, wastewater treatment, hydroelectric power generation, water management, irrigation, industrial water usage.
The EXPO will also provide an opportunity for exhibitors to present and discuss their innovative and sustainable technologies.
About the Expo
- the Budapest Water Summit 2016 is one of the most significant international high level water events of the year with water ministers, prominent international professional and political representatives, as well as representatives of the financial and business sector;
- the EXPO will be held in the building next to the Summit and the thematic forums in order to interlink stakeholders of the scientific, political and civil societies;
- international water project financing institutions are also invited to attend the EXPO;
- the second and third day of the EXPO (29-30 November) will be open to the public upon previous online registration;
- referring to the motto of World Water Day 2016 ‘Water and Jobs’, the third day of the EXPO will be open to university and college students (with previous registration), who will have the opportunity to meet water professionals as well as exhibiting companies and organisations.
