Nov. 28, 2000—NORIT Americas Inc. has announced that it will merge with Nuon N.V.
Nuon is a 3 billion dollar, international company that focuses primarily on the water and sustainable energy markets. The merger of NORIT and Nuon provides an excellent strategic fit that creates obvious synergies.
NORIT expects major gains in access to markets for its activated carbon, membrane technology, components and engineering services. In turn, Nuon expects access to NORIT's extensive knowledge and involvement in the drinking water and wastewater markets.
The greatest benefit will be for NORIT's and Nuon's customers. "We will now be capable of providing more solutions and expertise for our customers", says David Perry, Executive VP of NORIT Americas Inc. "We believe that this will result in stronger customer relationships, which has always been NORIT's number one goal".
NORIT will retain its current name and corporate identity and there will be virtually no change in daily operations. The current members of the NORIT Board of Management will stay on to lead the company and have pledged to continue to produce and supply the same quality products and services.
