Southwest Water Company today announced that ECO Resources, Inc., its contract operations subsidiary, has received a five-year, $5 million renewal of its contract to operate and maintain the wastewater collection and treatment systems in Barstow, California.

WEST COVINA, Calif., Oct. 9, 2000(BUSINESS WIRE)—Southwest Water Company today announced that ECO Resources, Inc., its contract operations subsidiary, has received a five-year, $5 million renewal of its contract to operate and maintain the wastewater collection and treatment systems in Barstow, California, a city of 21,500 people, located approximately 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

ECO Resources has operated the city's wastewater facilities since 1995.

Southwest Water Company provides a broad range of services, including water production and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, and utility submetering. The company owns regulated public utilities and also serves cities, utility districts and private companies under contract.

The company serves more than a million people in 29 states.
