Membrana-Charlotte has launched a new web site with expanded product and technical information.

Charlotte, NC. USA. March 19, 2003 - Membrana-Charlotte has launched a new web site with expanded product and technical information.

The new web site provides easy access to all information relating to Liqui-Cel Membrane Contactors that are used for removing gases from liquids. The updated Liqui-Cel web site has a new look and feel. The navigation has been streamlined so that all areas of the site are accessible from one main navigation menu.

The site provides all of the technical and educational materials that viewers need for understanding and using Liqui-Cel Membrane Contactors.

The new site has an expanded Technical Resources section. Additionally, there is a Product Tour that can be reviewed from the homepage. The Product Tour gives an understanding how the contactors work and provides an overview of current product options. A new version of the Product Tour with product animation is also being developed and will be launched at a later date.

Another new section of the home page is a Featured Item section. This will provide a quick reference to new products and new technical and application information. An e-mail Notifier section has also been added to the new site. The Liqui-Cel technical team sends out short periodic e-mail summaries of new applications, field case studies and product updates.

Viewers can add themselves to this e-mail distribution list from the web site. The site is currently in English, Chinese and Japanese. Other languages are under development.

Liqui-Cel Membrane Contactors are presently used across the globe for adding or removing O2, CO2 and N2 to or from liquids in the Semiconductor, Power, Pharmaceutical, Photographic, Food and Beverage, and many other general industries.

O2 negatively impacts many processes; it is corrosive and can oxidize many materials. In the power and industrial areas, piping and equipment are susceptible to corrosion. Specifically to the semiconductor market, high levels of O2 can cause lower wafer yields.

Additionally, CO2 negatively impacts performance of EDI and Ion Exchange. The Liqui-Cel Contactors offer a modular solution for O2/CO2 removal before these technologies without chemicals.

Liqui-Cel Contactors are also used to add gasses to liquids to enhance megasonic cleaning. The beverage industry looks to membrane contactors for carbonation, nitrogenation and O2 removal. These reflect only a few examples of the variety of applications the Liqui-Cel Membrane Contactors are used for.

Additionally, Membrana-Charlotte offers liquid ring vacuum pumps, eductors and Orbisphere sensors to complement the membrane contactors.

Membrana's Industrial Membrane Group also manufactures a variety of membranes used for filtration in various industries and applications. Manufacturing facilities are located in the USA and Europe. Global markets are served through sales offices and affiliates in North America, Europe, Japan, South East Asia and China.
