Jan. 21, 2003 -- The Salton Community Services District has applied for a loan from the North American Development Bank for a project to replace 6" and 8" sewer laterals in Tract 662 in Desert Shores, California in order to eliminate saltwater intrusion into the system.
The project also includes the replacement of a sewer lift station. The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of US$ .95 million equivalent, will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services:
* The replacement of 6" and 8" clay pipes with 8" plastic pipe on Acapulco Lane, Honolulu Lane, Venice Lane, Naples Lane, Marseille Lane, Capri Lane and the southern 500 feet of pipe on Thomas Avenue.
* Replacement of 8" plastic with 18" plastic pipe along Thomas Avenue between Lift Station No. 2 and Lift Station No. 6.
* Replacement of lift pumps, motors, and controls at Lift Station No. 2
Bidding for the above contract is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2003.
Participation in contracts to be financed by the NADB and BECC is open to firms in any country, and the selection process will be conducted in accordance with the NADB Procurement Policies and Procedures.
