City of La Feria, Texas, issues general procurement notice for water and wastewater improvement project

The City of La Feria, Cameron County, Texas, has applied for a loan and grant from the North American Development Bank (NADB) to help finance a project to improve its water and wastewater systems.


June 6, 2003 -- The City of La Feria, Cameron County, Texas, has applied for a loan and grant from the North American Development Bank (NADB) to help finance a project to improve its water and wastewater systems.

The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of Eighteen Million ($ 18,000,000.00) Dollars, will require the procurement of goods, works and services for the following works:

- Water distribution improvements
- Water treatment plant expansion
- Expansion of wastewater collection system and construction of wastewater treatment plant in order to provide service to eight colonias

Bidding for the above contracts is expected to begin in the 4th quarter 2003.

Participation in contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan/grant from the NADB will be open to firms from any country.
