John W. Jenkins elected president Trinity River Authority board

Trinity River Authority's 24-member board of directors has elected John W. Jenkins of Hankamer to a two-year term as president starting December 1, 2003.


ARLINGTON, Texas, Dec. 4, 2003 -- Trinity River Authority's 24-member board of directors has elected John W. Jenkins of Hankamer to a two-year term as president starting December 1, 2003.

Jenkins is a self-employed partner in a major farming enterprise. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1981 with a Bachelors in Business Administration.

The TRA board also elected Hector Escamilla, Jr. of Carrollton to serve as vice president and Edd Hargett of Crockett to serve as chairman of the Executive Committee.

The TRA board's Executive Committee consists of the president, vice president, chairman and four other individuals who are also elected by their fellow directors. Other TRA directors elected to the Executive Committee include Harold L. Barnard, Waxahachi; Nancy E. Lavinski, Palestine; Michael Cronin, Terrell; and Louis E. Sturns of Fort Worth.

The Trinity River Authority is a governmental water utility that will operate with a Fiscal Year 2004 budget of $138,742,230.
