Kansas City, Kansas, July 14, 2003 -- Pentair announced it has acquired the assets of TwinPumps, Inc. of Oldwick, New Jersey. TwinPumps is a manufacturer of vortex and chopper pumps for municipal wastewater and industrial applications. The TwinPumps products will be manufactured at the Fairbanks Morse plant in Kansas City, Kansas beginning in 2004.
The firm's founders have been retained "to help us develop other innovative products to supplement our product lines," according to Rick Cathcart, president and chief operating officer of Pentair's Water Technologies Group. Sales of TwinPumps products will be leveraged by Pentair's existing Fairbanks Morse pump sales channels to pursue replacement parts, replacement pumps, and new project business in the municipal wastewater business, Cathcart said.
