July 10, 2003 -- Pressed steel water tank manufacturer, Horseley Bridge Tanks, has announced the appointment of Colin Shaw as Sales Director. Shaw (53) has been with HB Tanks since 1977, apart from the period 1988-1993, and has extensive knowledge of the water management industry.
Working both in the UK and overseas, particularly in Africa and the Middle East, Shaw was instrumental in helping the company gain the Queen's Award for Export Achievement and recently secured an order for thirteen 100,000 gallon elevated tanks in Ghana.
HB Tanks was acquired by Aberdeen based environment and energy specialist, Balmoral Group Ltd, in April 2003. Balmoral has been designing and manufacturing liquid storage tanks since its inception in 1980.
Group chairman and managing director, Jim Milne, said of Shaw's appointment: "Colin's placement in HB Tanks is indicative of how we want to grow this part of our business. Balmoral is recognised as the market leader in GRP tanks while HB Tanks sets the benchmark for steel tanks. Colin's experience at the highest levels is invaluable and I believe his contribution, with access to Balmoral's full range of storage and treatment products, will help us stake our place as the number one tank manufacturer in the world."
