Independent Audit Reveals 52% of Traffic Comes from Outside U.S.
Pasadena, CA—ChemIndustry.com, (www.chemindustry.com) the largest provider of Web-based specialized search services for the $3 trillion worldwide chemical and closely related industries has built an international user base, according to an independent audit conducted by Survey.com. Survey.com research indicates that 52% of ChemIndustry.com's traffic is generated outside the United States.
"These numbers are very gratifying," said Calvin Carr, executive vice president, sales and marketing for ChemIndustry.com. "The chemical and closely related industries are global in nature. We have worked hard to build a worldwide user base and our investment in that area is paying off." In addition to an English-language site (www.chemindustry.com), ChemIndustry.com has Chinese (china.chemindustry.com), French (fr.chemindustry.com) and German (de.chemindustry.com) language services.
"The Web has been English-centric and U.S.-centric for too long," said Carr. "We are changing that in the industries we serve."
In addition to U.S. traffic, ChemIndustry.com generates a significant amount of traffic from the United Kingdom, India, Canada, Germany, France, Japan and China. According to Survey.com, about 30% of ChemIndustry.com's traffic comes from Asia. "Traditional search engines can access only a very small fraction of what exists on the Web," said Carr. "International users are learning that ChemIndustry.com opens up the deep or invisible Web in our target industries more effectively than anyone else."
ChemIndustry.com attracts approximately 100,000 unique visitors a month. Users come from every sector of the chemical and closely related industries including chemical and petrochemical manufacturing, marketing and distribution services, education and research, refining, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and consulting and professional services. Forty five percent of ChemIndustry.com visitors hold senior management positions; 35% are senior level engineers, scientists and researchers.
