BOSTON, MA, Apr. 1, 2011 -- The Hult Global Case Challenge, a competition aimed at identifying solutions to the global clean water crisis, announced the winner of its online component: the University of Cambridge in London.

The competition, produced in partnership with the Clinton Global Initiative and Water.org, will award a $1 million prize to its global winner, which will be selected at the final competition in New York City on April 28. President Bill Clinton will deliver the keynote address and personally present the award to the winning team.

The virtual competition component of the competition allowed followers to vote for their favorite solution via Facebook. "Having an online component this year worked really well for us," said Dr. Stephen Hodges, president of Hult International Business School. "It's a reflection of what this competition is all about -- innovation. The unique aspect is that it gave us the opportunity to tap into a much broader community because it allowed anyone to vote for the solution they liked best."

At the event in New York City, University of Cambridge will join the five regional winners already selected. They are: Boston University's School of Management; Stanford University's Graduate School of Business; University of Belgrade's Faculty of Organizational Sciences; SDA Bocconi's School of Management (Milan); and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
