• Adopts New technology platform to drive efficiencies, support growth and enhance service to customers
ISELIN, NJ, March 4, 2008 -- Middlesex Water Company, a leading provider of water and wastewater service in New Jersey and Delaware, has selected Oracle USA, the largest leading provider of enterprise business solutions, to help drive business performance by streamlining operations and strengthening its foundation for growth and service delivery.
Middlesex Water intends to implement the "Oracle for Utilities" suite of applications across a broad range of business processes. This integrated, robust technology platform will consist of Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing, Work and Asset Management, Mobile Workforce Management, GIS Integration and Oracle Database. The applications will be implemented in various concurrent timeframes over the next 18 months.
Middlesex Water owns and operates regulated water utility and wastewater systems in New Jersey and Delaware. The Company also operates water and wastewater systems under contract on behalf of municipal and private clients in New Jersey and Delaware. The selection of Oracle applications is an important step in the company's efforts to upgrade current legacy systems to better plan, manage and support processes critical to effective ownership and operation of utilities, contract operations, public private partnerships, and support of water, wastewater and related service customers.
