NEW BERLIN, WI, June 2, 2008 -- To further extend their implementation of Microsoft Dynamics GP and InGen Technologies utility billing application, Evansville (Ind.) Water & Sewer Utility (EWSU) has selected WennSoft to provide capital project tracking and work order management of their utility accounts and meters. Future uses of the WennSoft solutions include work order management of one filtration and two wastewater processing plants.
The utility, serving more than 150,000 residents, treats 60 million gallons of water per day for its citizens and businesses and extracts 32 million gallons of water from the Ohio River. EWSU will utilize WennSoft Job Cost, Service Management, Equipment Management Series and Graphical Schedule Board to track CIP projects and work orders.
The current billing software system used by EWSU is being replaced by Microsoft Dynamics GP financial management software and InGen Technologies Inc. utility billing software. A critical need is the ability to track capital projects - including water main extensions or back flow preventer installations - as well as assign, distribute and complete work orders related to detected leaks, missed readings or damaged meters.
The utility had been limited by the significant amount of manual coordination and paperwork with minimal ability to track a project's progress or financial status. The old system did not offer workflow, document or financial tracking capability, which will improve significantly with WennSoft. With the new system, EWSU will process and review readings from their Sensus "walk-by" metering system, invoice customers, spawn work orders for field work needed, balance schedules of all staff and manage capital projects - all with complete financial integration.
"WennSoft is happy to support our partner - InGen Technologies Inc. - in developing a fully integrated financial and operational system for Evansville," said Paul Braun, WennSoft general manager for Public Sector. "We are excited to add EWSU to our customer base. They will benefit from the complete offering of WennSoft business solutions and improve on the quality service residents already receive."
InGen is a software-plus-services company is devoted to "empowering intelligent utilities" with solutions that address revenue recovery and regulatory compliance.
"WennSoft provides InGen developers the ability to seamlessly weave asset, work and capital project management functionality into our advanced metering and billing financial solutions for the Utility industry," said Michael Halbig, InGen president. WennSoft and InGen solutions both have deep integration with Microsoft Dynamics GP financial management software. "I believe WennSoft and InGen offer a combined solution that is unique for the Utility industry," said Halbig.
WennSoft provides innovative business management solutions for public and private sector organizations focused on project management, field service and equipment/fleet management.
