DUBAI, UAE, Oct. 21, 2008 -- Leading wastewater management company Moalajah, a subsidiary of Veolia Water, has implemented Oracle® Utilities Customer Care and Billing to help it meet customer needs in the rapidly-expanding market of Ajman in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Ajman is one of the fastest growing states in the UAE with the newest wastewater collection network and treatment plant in the Gulf Region. Moalajah currently operates this network. However, with customer numbers rising rapidly, it needed a flexible, scalable solution to help streamline revenue collection, queries and provide a 360-degree view of customer interactions.
Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing has helped improve the customer experience. Customer queries are resolved more effectively as all Moalajah employees who interact with customers now can access a real-time view of each customer's history.
Moalajah faced challenges in delivering effective customer service as its customer base was growing exponentially. In fact, the Emirate of Ajman has experienced rapid growth in recent years, with thousands of new properties having been constructed and connected to the wastewater collection system. Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing has the potential to help Moalajah with every aspect of its dealings with customers, from service connection, rating and billing, to associated functions like payment processing, collections and field service.
"The customer base in Ajman is growing incredibly quickly as more and more housing developments are constructed. To be able to cope with thousands of new customers coming on board, we needed a solution that could offer genuine flexibility and scalability. Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing was quick to implement. It has transformed the way we serve our customers," said Jacob Illeris, chief executive officer, Moalajah.
"The Middle East is a priority region for Oracle Utilities. In addition to its innate quest for state-of-the-art technology, the region's rapid growth and expansion has created a sense of urgency for utilities to build flexible and scalable IT systems that leverage open standards. We're pleased to support utilities like Moalajah as they expand their efforts to deliver premier customer service to their communities," said Bastian Fischer, vice president and general manager for EMEA, Oracle Utilities.
