POWAY, CA, April 16, 2008 -- Toray Membrane USA Inc. (TMUS), a leading global membrane manufacturer for water purification and wastewater reclamation, has announced the arrival it's fourth state-of-the-art automatic rolling machine for the production of spiral wound reverse osmosis membrane/elements. This fourth auto winder is being installed at Toray's manufacturing facility in Poway, CA. and will be fully operational by the end of April 2008.
The additional machine increases Toray's ability to manufacture and deliver reverse osmosis elements for projects large and small. The automated rolling equipment can produce 4", 8" and 16" diameter membranes to meet market demand.
Toray has also added two warehouse/office buildings to their new production campus totaling an additional 30,000 square feet. This gives the company the ability to stock inventory to meet quick lead times. We are typically running lead times of 2 weeks or less for most common order quantities.
Because of these improvements in manufacturing, Toray has been able to keep pricing from rising drastically even though component costs have risen steadily with the increase in petroleum prices.
