TAMPA, FL, April 30, 2008 -- On April 21st, Doosan Hydro Technology was awarded Desalination Company of the Year at the Water, Finance & Sustainability Conference presented by Global Water Intelligence (GWI) and the International Desalination Association (IDA). The category was awarded for the desalination plant supplier which made the greatest overall contribution to the desalination industry during 2007. Doosan Hydro Technology was competing with Aqualyng/Aqualyng Holdings (Norway), Fisia Italimpianti (Italy), and IDE Technologies (Israel).

During 2007, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction and Doosan Hydro Technology won three major projects that will contribute to the profiting communities for many years to come. The 30 MIGD Shuwaikh RO Plant in Kuwait will be Kuwait's first seawater desalination plant using RO technology. The Al Shuaibah III Expansion is a 33 MIGD RO project that will make Shuaibah the world's largest desalination facility, supply much needed water to Jeddah, and pave the way for Saudi Arabia's future desalination development. Doosan Hydro Technology will provide the engineering and design specifications for pretreatment, RO, neutralization, chemical feed and CIP systems for both projects. The Luggage Point Alliance awarded Doosan Hydro Technology a contract to supply four (4) X 5 MIGD RO skids and CIP equipment to the Luggage Point Advanced Water Treatment Plant. The Luggage Point Advanced Water Treatment Plant in Brisbane, Australia will provide 15 MIGD of purified water to the Western Corridor Recycled Water Project, the largest recycled water project in the southern hemisphere.

More than 5,000 subscribers of GWI, WDR and members of IDA and IPWA were involved in the voting process. Delegates from around the world attended the Award Ceremony in London, which represented the best companies in the water sector. Nobel Peace Prize Winner Muhammad Yunus presented the Global Water Awards trophies, and spoke on how his Microfinance movement helps provide water for poor communities. Doosan Hydro Technology's award was received by Yoon Sik Park, Head of Doosan's Desalination Plant Business Group.

As the wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, Doosan Hydro Technology provides design, manufacturing and construction of custom engineered water and wastewater treatment plants.
