Yokogawa, Murata partnership to develop ISA100 Wireless communication modules

The ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute recently announced that Yokogawa Electric Corporation and Murata Manufacturing have entered into an agreement in which Murata will develop communication modules for ISA100 Wireless field wireless devices.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, Nov. 11, 2014 -- The ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute (WCI) recently announced that Yokogawa Electric Corporation, a Japanese electrical engineering and software company, and Murata Manufacturing Co., a Japanese manufacturer of electronic components, have entered into an agreement in which Murata will develop communication modules for ISA100 Wireless field wireless devices.

Murata is a global specialist in the design, manufacture and sale of ceramic-based passive electronic components and solutions, communication modules and power supply modules. In a demonstration of support for ISA100 Wireless technology, Murata recently joined the ISA100 WCI as a technical member.

Murata will develop ISA100 Wireless communication modules by licensing the technology from Yokogawa. This arrangement enables Murata to expand its communication products business to industrial wireless devices for use in manufacturing sites around the globe. This partnership supports Yokogawa's strategy to broaden adoption of its field wireless systems based on the ISA100 Wireless standard.
