New partnership to provide safe drinking water in rural India

BOTHELL, WA, Sept. 8, 2014 -- In an effort to support more efficient corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects in India, HaloSource, a global developer of clean water technologies, has entered into a new partnership with Eureka Forbes Ltd. (EFL), a global consumer durable company. The relationship will also contribute to HaloPure water purification product sales for HaloSource.

EFL is a specialist in the water purification market with a 53-percent share of all water purification devices in India. As such, EFL has collaborated with HaloSource to better contribute to lower classes and small towns in Peri-Urban India by offering non-electric storage purifiers at comparatively low costs.

By 2015, it is estimated that 334 million Indians will lack access to safe drinking water. In order to improve these figures, EFL has teamed up with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in recent years, such as World Vision or Oxfam, to increase access to clean safe water in rural communities and as part of disaster relief efforts.

The partnership will help expand access to clean, safe drinking water by donating a percentage of HaloPure patented water purification bead technology as a percentage of Halosource's overall sales volume. This initiative is a win-win for both companies and for the broader community of households in India that benefit from these corporate investments in communities, especially rural ones, that lack access to clean water.
