BERLIN, Germany, June 6. 2012 -- WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL – International Trade Fair and Congress for Water and Wastewater – has again been included in the programme set up by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) to assist new and innovative German companies in taking part in leading international trade fairs in Germany.

The aim of this programme is to strengthen the role of Germany as a centre for innovation and to encourage the expansion of new, innovative companies in the country. Twice already, in 2009 and 2011, new and innovative companies from all over Germany exhibited their products and services at WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL under the auspices of the BMWi promotional programme.

Assistance is provided to enable the participants to make use of a combined booth which is organised by the WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL project team and receives financial assistance from the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA).

By making use of the BMWi programme of assistance, exhibitors are able to present their latest developments at very reasonable terms to an audience of highly qualified experts. BAFA meets up to 80% of the cost of the booth, an arrangement that assists exhibitors in their efforts to develop new, international markets.

In order for companies to apply for financial assistance, they must be involved in the sectors of water, wastewater and infrastructure, with headquarters and their business operations located in the Federal Republic of Germany. They must also have fewer than 50 employees and their annual balance sheet or annual turnover should not exceed ten million euros. The companies should not have been in existence for more than ten years. For the first two occasions on which they take part in the fair the amount payable by participating companies is 1,248 euros, and for a third or subsequent occasion, under the auspices of the assistance programme, they must contribute 1,872 euros.
