Jan. 22, 2009 -- Pure Technologies U.S. Inc., Columbia Maryland, a subsidiary of Pure Technologies Ltd. has been awarded a contract for up to US$2.99 million by San Diego County Water Authority (SDCWA).
The SDCWA contract is for the supply and installation of Pure's patented SoundPrint® AFO fibre-optic acoustic monitoring system as part of the Water Authority's Aqueduct Protection Program, and monitoring services for the installation until September 2011. This is the third such contract awarded by the Water Authority to Pure since November 2005. Upon completion of the installation, which is scheduled for January and February 2009, Pure will be monitoring a total of 48 miles of the Authority's aqueduct system.
In another recent announcement, Pure's subsidiary Openaka Inc. (Branchburg, New Jersey) has received the Board of Commissioners approval for a general engineering services contract with Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Laurel, Maryland (WSSC). The contract will have a maximum value of US$18 million.
The initial term of the WSSC contract will be for three years with an option to extend the contract for a further three years. The maximum value of the work to be executed under the task-based contract will be US$3 million per year. The services to be provided under the contract can include inspection, assessment and monitoring of WSSC's prestressed concrete pipeline infrastructure. Work is scheduled to commence early in 2009, subject to successful negotiation of the contract.
