DUDLEY, UK, Nov. 10, 2009 -- A new environmental management company is on a mission to help Midlands companies become some of the cleanest and greenest in the country.

DSS Environmental, which is based in Dudley, manages the drain and sewer asset and environmental compliance requirements of some of the region's biggest names, partnering with civil engineers, the Highways Agency, construction companies, local authorities and industrial and commercial companies concerns.

"Many companies don't realize that failing to conform to the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 could face a fine of up to £20,000 or two years in prison," he said.

The firm believes it has identified a niche market - one that is driven by increasingly stringent legislation and companies' confusion over exactly what their obligations are.

"We can work with companies to provide a clear analysis of their environmental responsibilities and offer long-term solutions to answer them in an efficient and cost-effective way," says Darren.

"Our aim is to ensure that our clients can tick all the boxes when it comes to having a positive environmental and health and safety compliance - ensuring a better service for their customers and a happy relationship with the regulators."

DSSe's service include CCTV, drain and sewer cleaning, GPS Mapping Surveys and testing, specialist repairs and environmental services including maintenance programs and a spillage response service. Practicing what it preaches, the firm aims to establish itself as a 'clean and green' business partner.

"We're looking to develop and expand our customer base in the Midlands - ideally within a 70 mile drive of our Dudley offices," adds Darren.

"As well as helping us provide a better, more responsive service, it means we can save on fuel and help preserve our own green credentials and those of our clients."

DSSe is undertaking an audit of its own environmental impact and investigating carbon offsetting initiatives with organizations like Climate Care and the Woodland Trust.

To help companies manage their waste obligations, DSSe has launched a new website, www.dsse.co.uk or can be contacted on 01384 217780.
