KARAMAY, China, June 30, 2009 -- maxit a.s in Norway has signed a contract with Atal Engineering Ltd. in Hong Kong for delivery of Filtralite filter media to the Karamay Wastewater Treatment Plant in the Xinjiang province in China.
The ordered volume is about 10,000 tons and the delivery will take place during 2009.
The Karamay Wastewater Treatment Plant is for a petrochemical industry in the city of Karamay.
The flow of the plant is 50,000 m³/day and the water is coming from the petrochemical plant. After the water has been treated it is released into the river Mahe Ku Dao.
The process installed consists of a primary sedimentation followed by BAF (Biological Aerated Filtration) process where the Filtralite material is installed.
This is the second time Atal Engineering orders Filtralite filter media for a Sewage Treatment Plant in China.
Filtralite filter material has been installed in more than 100 BAF's around the world. Earlier deliveries in China with Filtralite media are to Dalian Wastewater Plant in Dalian, Quiyang Wastewater Treatment Plant in Quiyang and to Tai Po Drinking Water Plant in Hong Kong.
