TAMPA, FL, June 3, 2009 -- The Luggage Point Alliance awarded Doosan Hydro Technology a contract to supply brackish water reverse osmosis (BWRO) Trains to the Luggage Point Advanced Water Treatment Plant (AWTP). The AWTP will supply 66 MLD (17.4 MGD) of purified recycled water as part of the Western Corridor Recycled Water (WCRW) Project. The Luggage Point AWTP is a major component of the WCRW Project -- the largest recycled water scheme to be constructed in Australia and currently the largest project of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
Within six months after receipt of order, Doosan Hydro Technology designed, manufactured and delivered the four (3 duty, 1 standby) BWRO Trains for early installation in the fast-tracked AWTP construction project. Each 5.8 MGD Train consisted of pre-assembled pressure vessel modules. In addition to the BWRO Trains, Doosan Hydro Technology designed and supplied the Interconnecting Piping, CIP system, Instrument Panels, Sample Panels and PLC Panels. The supplied equipment has been successfully commissioned and put into service. Doosan Hydro Technology's robust design operates over a 300% TDS range with nominal recoveries between 80 and 85 percent.
Utilizing its global engineering, manufacturing, project management and supply chain resources, Doosan Hydro Technology effectively delivered the BWRO system to site on time with a high standard of quality.
