JOHNSTOWN, PA, January 28, 2008 -- Entex Technologies has supplied 32 BioWeb™ modules to Johnstown, PA, for use in their existing pure oxygen wastewater treatment plant.
The Johnstown wastewater facility serves approximately 60,000 people. Staff needed to reduce the solids loading to the clarifier to bring the facility into compliance with their solids effluent limit. The BioWeb system is an Integrated Fixed-film Activated Sludge system that provides additional fixed biomass, allowing the suspended biomass in the system to be reduced, improving the system's stability and performance.
Frank D'Ettorre of the Johnstown Redevelopment Authority said "Our original estimate for accomplishing our goals was over two and a half million dollars. With Entex's cost-effective technology, we were able to save our ratepayers almost half the original estimate."
"This installation demonstrates the versatility of IFAS and opens up an entirely new market for Entex," said Richard Pehrson, Entex's Executive Vice President.
