Marketing campaign to raise awareness about polluted waterways, remediation technology
• Water Management Technologies II's decontamination vessel, Scavenger, gets a new website.
MIAMI, FL, July 24, 2006 -- Water Management Technologies II, a company that develops innovative ways to clean up contaminated waterways, today launched an aggressive marketing campaign to raise awareness about water pollution and new technologies available to remediate chemical waste, floating debris and stormwater runoff -- all of which are creating a growing concern for the world's waterways.
As part of the campaign, the company has designed new marketing collateral, hired public relations firm, Stanton Communications, and launched a new website, www.scavengervessel.com
"Pollution is a growing problem in many of the world's rivers, lakes and ports and we wanted to do something to help raise awareness about new solutions that can positively impact the environment," said Sophie Mastriano, managing director of Water Management Technologies II. "This new Web site is intended to serve as a resource for both private and public sectors looking for solutions to deal with water clean-up."
According to Mastriano, the website was designed for companies and individuals seeking information on available remediation technologies. It will contain a glossary of common aquatic terms and information about the purifying properties of ozone in the treatment of water.
The Web site will also contain information about the company's Scavenger depollution vessel and its patented Oxy-Plus System™ that cleans the water by aerating it with a combination of ozone and oxygenation. The Scavenger boat improves water quality by reducing and eliminating bacteria and viruses, controlling algae growth, improving water clarity and eliminating odors. Case studies will be featured along with data collected from water bodies where the Scavenger has been deployed in U.S. and international waterways. A multi-purpose boat, the Scavenger not only cleans and re-oxygenates water, its unique design also allows it to collect bulk waste and debris, creating more attractive public waterways.
The Scavenger depollution vessel is currently in use on the Miami River. In its five years on the River, more than 40,000 cubic feet of trash has been removed, 20 billion gallons of water decontaminated and 1.5 billion liters of oxygen introduced into area waters. The technology has proved so successful and so economical in cleaning up the Miami River that government officials in Dade County, Florida have gone far beyond the initial pilot project for Scavenger. Since 2000, the Scavenger service contract has been through three renewal cycles, extending through 2006.
Water Management Technologies II™ is the affiliated marketing and distribution company of Water Management Technologies (www.scavengervessel.com), which was founded in 1995 to better the environment through advanced water decontamination technologies. The company holds the patent to the Oxy-Plus System™, an advanced process that treats and revitalizes waterways by directly aerating the water with a combination of ozone and oxygenation.
