TULSA, OK, July 17, 2006 -- PennWell Corp., a global business-to-business publisher and organizer of conferences and exhibitions, has named Timm Dower as publisher of WaterWorld and Industrial WaterWorld, leading magazines providing information for the U.S. and North America water and wastewater treatment industries.
The magazines cover municipal, rural and small system water and wastewater markets as well as industrial process and makeup water, cooling water and wastewater applications. Dower will be based in PennWell's Tulsa office.
A seasoned publishing and sales veteran, he has nine years' experience in business-to-business media, much of it in the U.S. water markets. WaterWorld magazine has been published monthly since 1984. It has 58,000 subscribers including executives, engineers and other industry professionals at U.S. drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities and the engineering firms that serve them. Industrial WaterWorld magazine was launched in 2000 to serve the water treatment facilities at industrial plants in North America.
Dower will report to Robert Smock, senior vice president of PennWell's Global Energy Group, who commented, "Timm Dower brings tremendous enthusiasm, work ethic and experience at a time when the water industry faces huge challenges in providing ultra-high quality drinking water to an expanding population and meeting ever-increasing environmental requirements for wastewater discharge."
Robert F. Biolchini, PennWell president and chief executive officer, said, "We are pleased to have Timm Dower assume the important position of publisher of our domestic water magazines. He is keenly knowledgeable of the U.S. water industry, our products and our customers. We are enthusiastic about the leadership he will bring."
