Koch Membrane Systems, Aqua-Aerobic Systems form MBR marketing partnership
• AquaMBR™ membrane bioreactor to feature Puron™ submerged membranes.
ROCKFORD, IL, July 11, 2006 -- Aqua-Aerobic Systems Inc., a leading manufacturer of wastewater treatment systems announces a partnership with Koch Membrane Systems Inc. (KMS) offering unique membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology solutions for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment.
KMS, a world-class developer and manufacturer of innovative membranes and membrane filtration, will collaborate with Aqua by featuring its Puron submerged membrane product for use in Aqua's AquaMBR membrane bioreactor process.
The AquaMBR process specifically utilizes a unique time-managed, sequential aeration process to promote biological nutrient removal within a simplified unit process. In comparison to conventional MBR technologies, the AquaMBR process offers advantages by addressing equalization, nitrification and denitrification within a single reactor while minimizing power costs through reduced energy needed for mixing, pumping and aeration.
Koch's Puron submerged membrane module provides leading-edge advancements in the direct filtration of high-level mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS) in the application of membrane technology to wastewater treatment. With engineered advancements in the design, construction and configuration of the membrane module, the Puron submerged membrane surpasses the reliability and performance exhibited by prevailing submerged membrane technologies.
The strategic partnership allows Aqua-Aerobic to uniquely couple the Puron submerged membrane to their line of biological processes that include the AquaExcel™ batch reactor process, the AquaPASS™ phased activated sludge system and the Aqua MSBR™ modified sequencing batch reactor process.
