GEORGETOWN, TX, Feb. 8, 2006 -- TiPS Inc. recently published a white paper that expands the concept of alarm management beyond previous assumptions. Where other alarm management initiatives target the alarm system as the cause of "too many alarms," TiPS paper encourages searching further for the root cause of the problem and stresses a holistic approach to solving it. The underlying theme being: "Alarms are a symptom, not the problem."

TiPS believes that this different perspective will shape the future of alarm management and is planning a series of seminars and presentations at various venues and conferences to encourage critical evaluation of alarm management as it is thought of today and how it might be changed.

The white paper is available for download (260k PDF) at: www.tipsweb.com/downloads/TiPS_White_Paper_OpEx_Puzzle_Alarm_Management_Piece.pdf
