• Firm relocates water resources planning, geotechnical engineering, ecological sciences consulting and ecology laboratory to one facility
DENVER, CO, Jan. 22, 2010 -- GEI Consultants Inc., one of the nation's leading geotechnical, environmental, water resources, and ecological science and engineering firms, announced today that it has relocated its Denver area consulting engineering and scientific services to a single facility located in the Denver Technology Center. The move involves more than 60 staff of GEI formerly located in three metropolitan locations in Centennial, Littleton, and Boulder, Colorado.
"By combining our professional staff into a single office location, our water resources planners, geotechnical engineers, ecologists, and scientists can now work side-by-side to provide the best possible service to our clients," said Steven Canton, GEI Rocky Mountain area manager and a member of the firm's board of directors.
The new location encompasses 16,832 square feet at the Denver Technology Center located at 4601 DTC Boulevard. Benefits of the move include improved facilities for GEI's geotechnical and planning engineers and ecological consultants and scientists. It also involves the transfer of GEI's ecology laboratory to the new state-of-the-art facility. The lab, which had been located in downtown Littleton for more than 25 years, offers a variety of aquatic and terrestrial habitat testing services that provide the data necessary for comprehensive ecological analyses of lake and stream systems.
"While we always work closely together on projects, the three separate locations in Boulder, Centennial and Littleton limited cross-office collaboration. We are thrilled with the new location, facility, and improved laboratory services," adds Canton.
GEI's Denver office provides a full range of ecological and geotechnical services including water conveyance; dam and earthwork design, construction, maintenance, and inspections; water quality and habitat assessments; and aquatic ecosystem surveys. Additional engineering services include hydropower and fish passage designs; raw water supply master plans; geotechnical investigations; and safety inspections.
