Tap water campaign launched in Venice
VENICE, Italy, Nov. 11, 2010 -- The city of Venice, Italy, known for its vast system of canals, is encouraging its citizens to curb bottled water consumption by drinking tap water instead.
Driven in part by the arduous task of removing trash from the city, as well as a growing collection of plastic bottles, the city hopes that turning to tap water will help reduce the city's carbon footprint.
