SINGAPORE, Sept. 16, 2010 -- Main board-listed United Envirotech Ltd. ("United Envirotech," "UEL," "the Group,"), a leading membrane-based water and wastewater treatment solutions provider, has signed a Framework Agreement (Agreement) with Neijiang Investment Holdings Company and Neijiang Economic Development Committee to build a RMB200 million wastewater treatment plant in Neijiang City.

The 4.25 million-populated city is one of the 9 cities in Sichuan Province that is earmarked for intensive economic development. Under the Built-Transfer (BT) arrangement, the newly-constructed plant, with a daily capacity of 50,000m3, will treat wastewater from Neijiang Xi Industrial Park.

"The plant will be constructed using the Membrane Bio-Reactor (MBR) technology. Being able to secure this contract signifies recognition of our expertise in MBR, and adds on to our past successful track record of using such technology for wastewater treatment," Dr Lin Yucheng, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of UEL, expressed with pride.

The same Agreement also involves further negotiation between UEL and the two parties, to form a joint venture (JV) company. The JV will acquire an existing 50,000m3-per-day municipal wastewater treatment plant under the Transfer-Operate-Transfer (TOT) arrangement. Post acquisition, UEL will undertake an expansion work involving Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), to double the existing treatment capacity. The JV will also be involved in the project of supplying 100,000m3 of potable water to Neijiang City daily.

Regarding the potential JV, Dr Lin comments, "We are excited about the prospect of being involved in supplying potable water to Neijiang, which will set us on route to becoming a total water solution provider in this fast developing city."

Further details regarding these projects will be announced at a later stage.
