AWT names award winners

The Association of Water Technologies awarded the Ray Baum Memorial Water Technologist of the Year Award, as well as the Supplier of the Year Award at the 2007 Annual Convention and Exposition in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Nov. 10, 2007. ROCKVILLE, MD, Nov. 21, 2007 -- The Association of Water Technologies (AWT) awarded the Ray Baum Memorial Water Technologist of the Year Award, as well as the Supplier of the Year Award at the 2007 Annual Convention and Exposition in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Nov. 10, 2007.

Richard L. Tassone, Kemira Chemicals Inc., received the prestigious Ray Baum Memorial Water Technologist of the Year Award. The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurial spirit and contributions to the field of water treatment and particularly for service to AWT and its members. Tassone has been a long time friend of AWT through his activity with the Education Committee. His tireless efforts and work led to the development of AWT's highly successful Wastewater Treatment Training Seminar. During his distinguished career, Tassone authored numerous papers and articles on the subject of water treatment and has made multiple presentations at AWT seminars.

Rex Rankin, with Water Treatment Industry Assurance Company received the Supplier of the Year Award. This award recognizes the suppliers who are an integral part of the water technology industry. Water Treatment Industry Assurance Company offers insurance products to those in the industry. They provide not only great customer service and quality products, but are dedicated to the business needs and goals of the water technology professional.

AWT is an international trade association representing over 500 companies that specialize in industrial and commercial water treatment for heating and cooling systems. These companies may also specialize in wastewater treatment, potable water treatment, and other industry segments.
