Saudi SWCC, Aramco to acquire RO software licenses
TUCSON, AZ, Aug. 29, 2007 -- MASAR Technologies Inc., an international membrane desalination technology development, consulting and training firm based in the US, received purchase orders for licensing its MASAR® software system from the Saudi Arabian Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), the largest producer of desalinated water in the world, and from the Saudi oil company, Aramco Services Company.
The universally applicable software expert system is based on the innovative Silent Alarm™ membrane desalination plant monitoring and fouling detection technology. The licenses were ordered by SWCC, through Dar Al-Taqniya, MASAR's authorized agent in Saudi Arabia, for its newly-refurbished 24 MGD seawater RO plant in Al-Jubail, and by Saudi Aramco for its new 2.3 MGD brackish RO Plant at Abqaiq. The unique technology, exclusively developed by MASAR Technologies and successfully tested at tens of membrane desalination plants around the world, allows for monitoring and optimizing system performance, as well as measuring and detecting early development of fouling or scaling in membrane systems in real time, and thus, positively impacting plant availability, reliability, durability and cost of water production.
