DENVER, CO, Sept. 11, 2007 -- Senior staff in the water industry share expertise and learn new skills at the Deputy Executive Forum hosted by the American Water Works Association in Las Vegas, NV, Sept. 27-28, 2007.
Deputy Directors, Assistant General Managers, Chief Operating Officers and others second-in-command at water and wastewater utilities come together for a seminar moderated by AWWA Executive Director Jack Hoffbuhr. The opening speech by AWWA President Nilaksh Kothari will be followed by two days of training and networking opportunities. Presenters include Victor Mercado, Director of the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department, John Mann of Mann Consulting Inc., Gary Dichtenberg, President of Professional Development Associates, and several utility management staff. They will cover the AWWA 2007 State of the Industry Report, business management techniques and hands-on projects to strategize for challenges facing the industry today. Attendees will learn how to communicate technical knowledge in layman's' terms to staff and consumers, as well as create a network of peers for future support and feedback.
