• Mouchel Parkman, Derceto join to help optimize pumping for large water networks
WEST BYFLEET, Surrey, UK, Sept. 7, 2007 -- Mouchel Parkman has joined up with New Zealand-based company Derceto to help British water companies reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint.
The partnership aims to introduce modeling software that can optimize pumping schedules across large water networks in the UK. The technology, which acts in real time with live data, analyses pumping information and makes intricate adjustments to reflect changing demand while maintaining operations within defined parameters.
The software has the potential to make significant efficiency savings.
"We recognize that the software has considerable potential in the UK," says Piers Clark, managing director of Mouchel Parkman's Utilities business and a driving force behind the agreement. "The technology can cut a water company's energy bill by as much as 15 per cent, reducing electricity costs and mitigating carbon footprints."
Derceto chairman Bryce Whitcher says: "Our company is excited by the prospect of working with Mouchel Parkman, which has well-established relationships with water and sewerage utilities across Britain, and we see the Group as the ideal partner to drive our expansion into the UK market."
Mouchel Parkman, based in the United Kingdom, is a professional support services group, which helps clients in the public sector and regulated industry to provide better everyday services to customers and communities.
Derceto, with offices in Auckland, New Zealand, is a company of multi-disciplinary engineers. Derceto Aquadapt is the only software system that operates online and in real-time to optimize water distribution pump scheduling.
