Atlantium recognized for leadership in clean technology
• Atlantium Technologies Ltd selected by AlwaysOn as a GoingGreen 100 Top Private Company award winner
HAR TUV, Israel, Sept. 19, 2007 -- Atlantium Technologies Ltd was honored to be included in the AlwaysOn list of the top 100 emerging companies that are creating new business in green technology. Announced at a special reception at KPMG's office in Silicon Valley, inclusion in this prestigious list acknowledges the impact that Atlantium's innovative Hydro-Optic Disinfection (HOD) technology is having on the UV water disinfection industry.
"We are very excited to have made this list," says Ron Eyal, Atlantium's Vice President of Marketing and Sales. "It recognizes the impact our technology is creating in the water industry. Atlantium's ability to deliver superior environmentally friendly disinfection is certainly making waves in the industry. Our impressive client base proves this. It already includes major players in the food and beverage, aquaculture and water treatment industries; and it continues to grow as more companies around the world look for powerful, cost-effective, green solutions -- and this is exactly what we provide."
Atlantium's innovative HOD technology unleashes the true power of UV light's environmentally friendly disinfection capabilities. The core of the HOD system is made of a large quartz tube that acts as an effective light trap using the "total internal reflection" principle. This unique configuration creates a homogeneous uniform distribution of the UV light throughout the system's cross-section at a dosage that systematically achieves high microorganism reduction with better energy utilization. Amongst other unique features, Atlantium's HOD systems include a dual sensor configuration that provides direct reading of the water's UV transmittance and lamp intensity, guaranteeing light that accurately matches the user's requirements.
AlwaysOn editors compiled the first annual elite GoingGreen100 list with assistance from KPMG's emerging business practice, KPMG VC Practice. They surveyed more than 500 venture investors, investment bankers, and technology insiders, who nominated more than 350 companies to determine the GoingGreen100 winners. The GoingGreen100 winners demonstrate leadership among their peers in at least two areas: market traction measured by revenue or customer growth, and game-changing approaches and technologies that are likely to disrupt existing markets and entrenched players.
"The AlwaysOn GoingGreen 100 companies will accelerate the global movement to a more sustainable environment," said Tony Perkins, founder and editor of AlwaysOn. "The ideas and innovation we saw as we reviewed hundreds of clean technology companies will be foundational to the next wave of economic growth in California and beyond. My congratulations to each AlwaysOn GoingGreen 100 winner -- these are the companies which we predict will have the greatest market traction, strongest innovation and most game-changing approaches this year."
Atlantium is certain to continue along its path of growth. According to Eyal, "The recent validation of our HOD system according to EPA protocols and our progress in expanding our product line are certainly enforcing our position in the water disinfection industry, and I'm sure we will continue creating value for the water industry, our investors and the green community."
Atlantium develops and supplies advanced innovative water disinfection solutions for a wide variety of industrial and municipal applications.
