FORT WASHINGTON, PA, June 21, 2007 -- The SORB 33(r) arsenic removal technology and Bayoxide(r) E33 arsenic removal media from Severn Trent Services have been selected for use by the City of Manteca, Calif. at two of its wells. Well 24, which delivers a flow rate of 2,000 gallons per minute (gpm), and Well 25, with a flow rate of 2,500 gpm, had average arsenic levels of 12 and 16 parts per billion (ppb), respectively. The new treatment systems enable the City of Manteca to reduce arsenic levels below the EPA arsenic standard for drinking water of 10 ppb.

The SORB 33 process and technology developed by Severn Trent Services to reduce arsenic contamination has been commercially proven to effectively and economically meet the stringent government standard of 10 ppb across a range of water treatment applications. Bayoxide E33 is a dry, robust, ferric oxide media designed with a high capacity for arsenic, providing long operating cycles and low operating costs. Compared to competitive technologies, Bayoxide E33 offers the lowest capital cost while providing ease of operation and maintenance. The media has been permitted for use by health and environmental agencies in 18 states, more than any other arsenic removal technology.

Severn Trent Services, with global headquarters in Fort Washington, Pa., is a leading supplier of water and wastewater treatment solutions. The company's broad range of products and services is concentrated around disinfection, instrumentation and filtration technologies, contract operating services, state-of-the-art residential metering products and services.
