PALATINE, IL, Dec. 21, 2007 -- Schneider Electric Relays (SE Relays LLC) announces the Relay Competency Center (RCC), a centralized, coordinated team of experts who offer world-class customer assistance, application development and relay design innovation for Square D® brand and Telemecanique® brand plug-in relays.

Designed to assist customers with choosing and managing their relay requirements, the RCC coordinates efforts with Schneider Electric sales representatives to ensure that all customer requests are quickly and expertly addressed.

Backed by a dedicated team of engineers, the RCC works closely with customers to assess their needs and provide solutions. The center's primary focus is on ensuring proper product selection, especially in the early stages of design. A team of product application specialists support Schneider Electric sales representatives at customer sites to address specifications and technical concerns.

"The creation of the Relay Competency Center is a win-win situation for customers, distributors and Schneider Electric," said Matt O'Kane, business director and general manager for the RCC. "Schneider Electric offers the most feature-rich products available today, helping customers and distributors feel confident in their relay production selections. Ultimately, we want to help customers create the most cost-effective and reliable control systems possible."

The RCC Web site can facilitate product identification and includes an automated product navigator to narrow product selection and display associated accessories. Users also can download 2-D drawings and 3-D models directly into 18 different CAD software platforms. In addition, cross-reference searches are available online to help customers find the proper replacement products for relays in existing panels.

SE Relays LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Schneider Electric, designs, manufactures and supports a broad line of relays and sockets used in general-purpose and industrial applications with the goal of continuous innovation and unparalleled customer service and support.

Headquartered in Palatine, Ill., the North American Operating Division of Schneider Electric is one of four operating divisions of Schneider Electric, headquartered in Paris, France, and markets the Square D®, Telemecanique® and Merlin Gerin® brand products to customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
