CHESHIRE, UK, July 24, 2007 -- TruRead, the leading provider of integrated services for end-to-end collection and delivery of meter readings for electricity, gas and water, has announced an exciting new addition to its Executive Management team. The Board of Directors announced the appointment of Alan J. Jones as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to head a newly-created management team.

Jones offers extensive industry knowledge and experience of the automated meter reading (AMR) and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) markets, and has over 25 years' experience. He has built a successful track record in marketing, operations, business development and general management.
Jones most recently served as General Manger and Business Development Director of Iskraemeco UK, a market leader and major European manufacturer and supplier of advanced metering products and solutions.
Prior to joining Iskraemeco Jones held a senior management position within ABB Metering Systems and was Vice President of BCN Data Systems Ltd (BCN) -- a subsidiary of Bechtel Enterprises of the USA. BCN Data Systems deployed and operated the largest fixed radio system for meter reading outside the US for British Gas Trading.
He has also been a consultant and advisor to companies developing power-line communication technology and customer display units to operate with smart meters.
As CEO, Jones will ensure the day-to-day delivery of TruRead's high standard of customer service and excellence and will implement strategies to add new services and extend the company's customer base.
Jones is a Chartered Engineer and has a Bachelor of Science degree. He has written a number of papers and presented at many seminars on the subjects of smart metering and AHe holds a number of patents for innovation in AMR, communications and metering technology.
TruRead was established to focus entirely on providing a managed data service through Automated Meter Reading (AMR) and is currently pioneering trials with national gas suppliers and utility based companies throughout the UK. TruRead is the result of a coming together of the talents and expertise from both the utilities sector and IT systems development sector, and exploits the latest technology in powerful smart metering solutions and data loggers. In May 2007 TruRead were lauded in the Environmental Technologies category of the North West Business Environment Awards.
