SANTA BARBARA, CA, and TORONTO, ON, Canada, July 5, 2007 -- Advanced Utility Systems Corporation (Advanced) is pleased to announce that the City of Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara), California -- located a short pleasant drive from Los Angeles -- has selected CIS Infinity® as its customer information and billing solution for the City's 35,000 water, sewer and refuse accounts.

Robert Samario, Assistant Finance Director for Santa Barbara explains the decision; "We needed a vendor with a proven track record as well as a solution that aligned with our priorities including an integrated on-line payment system." He goes on to say, "Advanced impressed us with their solution as well as the strong references provided by their current clients."

"Advanced understands the impact a positive reference has to the entire organization, so we do work very hard to ensure each of our customers are working with our solution as efficiently and effectively as possible." notes Steven Hammond, Vice-President for Harris Computer Systems. "And for Santa Barbara, we took the time, leading up to their selection of Advanced, to complete a thorough assessment of their requirements. Through a series of on-site discussions, we were able to gain a clearer understanding of Santa Barbara's critical success factors and worked with their project team to address each of them before the contract was signed. Based on our experience, this scope validation process and the resulting dialog mitigates the disconnects that can be a detriment to any project of this magnitude."

In conjunction with a world class CIS and utility billing solution, Advanced will also work with Santa Barbara to introduce a number of enhancements including additional system security features as well as customization to the existing Solid Waste module within CIS Infinity.

And with Santa Barbara selection, it solidifies Advanced's presence in the state of California.
