BIRMINGHAM, UK, May 23, 2007 -- KSB, the Loughborough based international pump manufacturer, has supplied specialist pump equipment to the train station which is serving the new Wembley Stadium.
The company's Amarex N submersible motor pumps have been installed as part of a package situated in the storm water storage impermeable area located beneath the station. The system has been designed to handle large quantities of rain water to prevent the station and adjacent areas becoming flooded.
The Wembley Stadium Station scheme provides a capacity of approximately 7,000 people per hour plus improved access for those attending major sporting occasions and events at the new stadium.
KSB's equipment was specified and installed by Edmund Nuttall of Camberley in Surrey as part of the overall contract for the White Horse Bridge.
Britta Frank, marketing sector manager for KSB, said: "We are pleased to be associated with such a prestigious project as the Wembley Stadium development and it is great that our equipment is playing its part at the new railway station."
KSB says the Amarex N is suitable for handling all types of drainage and water extraction in specialist drainage rooms and areas subject to flooding on municipal, industrial and commercial applications as well as for waste water and sewage.
Amarex N is a submersible, single-stage, single-entry, close-coupled unit which is not self priming. Also available with free flow impellers, the pump is designed for stationary and transportable use.
KSB has been established in the UK for more than 100 years and is one of the world's largest pump manufacturers. The company's products are used in a wide variety of applications including building services, water and sewage as well as in manufacturing processes.
