• Revamped site combines entertainment with education

BIRMINGHAM, AL, May 2, 2007 -- U.S. Pipe has launched its redesigned Web site, www.uspipe.com, an interactive, user-friendly resource for learning about U.S. Pipe and its products.

The site is attractive for both its usefulness and for providing information in an entertaining way. It's the kind of resource that provides everything the customer needs to find product information, print submittals and make use of time-saving calculators.

"Knowing that our Web site is one of our most important connections to our customers, we upgraded it to ensure that they could quickly and easily find the most up-to-date information available," said Ray Torok, U.S. Pipe's president and chief operating officer. "The Web site is not only entertaining but also extremely helpful to the customer."
Some of the new features of the revamped site are:

Interactive Media Player
The site features branding videos such as "Beautiful Innovation" and "Friendly Foreign Aid" featuring the voice-over of Doug Jeffers, otherwise known as the voice of the Miller High Life commercials. His subdued, dry wit pervades the videos in both manner and tone, while accurately defining U.S. Pipe.

Product Audio Clips
For an entertaining insight into U.S. Pipe products, customers can listen to a selection of audio clips under the "On-hold Messages" section. Here, they'll appreciate the humor of pairing an unusual character with a U.S. Pipe product. The "Godfather" discusses the ease of HDD with Ductile Iron pipe. A couple dramatically explains how their relationship won't stand up like PROTECTO 401™ Lining. A golfer explains the need to live dangerously since tapping Ductile Iron pipe is so safe and fast. It's just one more element that makes this site both unique and informative.

MJ FIELD LOK^® Time-Savings Calculator
Customers can use this handy calculator to determine how much time and money they'll save when they use the MJ FIELD LOK^® Gasket instead of lug-type restraints or thrust blocks.

Training/Educational Videos
Customers can learn more about using U.S. Pipe products by watching two training videos titled "Horizontal Directional Drilling with TR FLEX^® Pipe" and "Pipe Bursting with Ductile Iron pipe."

U.S. Pipe Submittal Engine
Visitors save time preparing submittals for their U.S. Pipe products using the U.S. Pipe Submittal Engine. This feature allows U.S. Pipe customers to login to a separate section of the main Web site and type in specific submittal information to be included in a custom PDF. It also gives the client the ability to annotate the newly created PDF, e-mail the file to customer(s) and manage previously created PDF files.

DIP Load Builder
Users can figure out exactly how much more pipe they can get on their truck to make it a full load. All they have to do is select a shipping point location and a default class, then specify the diameter and feet required. The DIP Load Builder will then provide options to help the customer optimize the truckload capacity.
