Elster Group announces new CEO
LUXEMBOURG, May 2, 2007 -- Elster Group, the world's leading manufacturer and supplier of highly accurate, high quality, integrated metering and utilization solutions is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim McGivern as chief executive officer.
McGivern joins Elster Group after 15 years in the international water and waste water industry, holding various leadership positions. In early 2003, McGivern was appointed chief operating officer at American Water, the largest water utility in the US, with regional executive responsibility for all of Thames Water's and American Water's businesses in North, South, and Central America and worldwide leadership of the Thames Water growth and development strategy. In 2001, after the acquisition of Thames Water by RWE AG, McGivern transferred to the US to head all of Thames Water's business in North and South America and to secure regulatory approval for the acquisition of American Water. From 1999 as president at Thames Water's international business, he was responsible for operations and growth in over 30 countries.
