ORLANDO, FL, Aug. 16, 2004 -- DB Microware, a wholly owned subsidiary of Neptune Technology Group Inc., has been recognized by iAnywhere Solutions Inc., a subsidiary of Sybase Inc., as a winner of the fourth annual Innovator Awards.

The 2004 Innovator Awards recognize iAnywhere Solutions Alliance Program members who have demonstrated innovative use of iAnywhere® technology as the foundation for cutting-edge applications that enable their customers to have anywhere, anytime access to enterprise information.

"Our team chose SQL iAnywhere Studio for integration with our FieldNet® System because of its reliability and data integrity," states Kent Murray, Vice President of Marketing for Neptune. Murray went on to say, "This award validates the FieldNet System by DB Microware as a cutting-edge software not only in the utility software market but across the software industry."

DB Microware was recognized for its innovative mobile deployment at Allegheny Energy under the FieldNet System. Allegheny Energy is a major energy company that owns and operates electric generating facilities and delivers electric and natural gas service to about four million people in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, and Ohio. DB Microware leveraged SQL Anywhere Studio's MobiLink and the Ultralite Component Suite from iAnywhere to complement FieldNet as a flexible mobile application.

"We are extremely pleased with the quality of this year's applicants, representing several countries and a wide variety of industries, including education, healthcare, transportation and utilities," said Brian Vink, Vice President of Marketing at iAnywhere. "The entries are especially exciting as our partners have deployed extremely innovative solutions in a variety of environments ranging from mobile field force solutions to small- to medium-sized business applications."

Allegheny Energy uses FieldNet to perform collections, service orders, and meter reading across five states with 250 field service technicians. By implementing FieldNet, Allegheny Energy has created a mobile workforce while reducing costs associated with administration, training, and IT infrastructure.
