DOVER, DE, Jan. 5, 2004 -- William C. Boyles, President of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation's Water Business Unit, announced that the company has sold substantially all of the assets of Carroll Water Systems, Inc. in Westminster, MD to Ronald W. Smith, former owner.

Chesapeake purchased Carroll Water Systems, Inc. from Smith in January 2000. Including the sale of these assets, Chesapeake has disposed of all but one water dealership that was part of its water services business unit.

"Carroll Water Systems is an award winning water treatment and conditioning EcoWater dealership that has been serving the area for more than 20 years," Boyles said. "The dealership will continue to serve residents of Carroll, Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Howard, Harford and Frederick counties," he added. Carroll Water Systems' range of services includes EcoWater brand water treatment equipment sales and service; service on most makes and models of water treatment equipment; and water pump sales and service.
