BEER-SHEVA, Israel, Sept. 23, 2004 (PRNewswire-FirstCall) -- Following increases in the costs of energy, raw materials and transportation, ICL Industrial Products announces price increases for bromine and bromine derivatives.
World's bromine supply is currently short of demand, and inventory levels for this product require adjusting bromine price to justify investment in the product's production capacity to meet the increasing demand for this product.
The price increase for bromine, inorganic bromides and hydrobromic acid will take effect in all territories on October 1, subject to existing contracts.
-- Bromine price will increase by $300,
-- Sodium bromide, ammonium bromide and potassium bromide prices will be increased by $200,
-- Hydrobromic acid price will be increased by $200.
In addition, the cost for its range of bromine-based completion fluids also is going up. The price increase for calcium bromide, zinc-calcium bromide and sodium bromide will increase by $200, and will take effect on Oct. 1, subject to existing contracts.
ICL Industrial Products is one of the ICL Group's four operating segments. It produces bromine, magnesia and chlorine from Dead Sea brines, and manufactures and markets a range of bromine compounds, including flame retardants, bromides for industry, agriculture and water treatment, as well as a range of magnesia products and chlorine-based products for numerous uses.
